The media, the public and even the government are, at first, misled as to the real danger. By the time the truth is discovered it is already too late. Society falls apart and a small handful of survivors are left to try to pick up the pieces.
What happens when the Rabies virus mutates? Find the answer as a mysterious character known only as Wolf must take a seemingly random group of people and mold them into a group that can survive a cross country journey.
First they learn how to survive against the zombies and later against those who seek to take advantage of the situation. Eventually they run into the military and are surprised at their response. Once they reach a safe haven the group disbands with disastrous results. Can Wolf again pick up the pieces?
Rabid Zombies is written by Culex Pipiens (pen name), an amateur author who focuses on Post Apocalyptic fiction in a writing style best described as causal story telling.
Rabid Zombies eBook Culex Pipiens
I have read most if not all of this author's stories and I have been impressed by his writing skill. Rabid Zombies is no exception and in fact, the author seems to have kicked it up a notch with this tale. These zombies, victims of a mutated rabies virus, are scary bad guys without even considering the raiders who pop up in their wake. Coupled with likeable, believeable characters (okay, Wolf is the exception when it comes to believeable, but he is one heck of a protagonist), and this book is a real winner for me.SPOILER ALERT:
I really liked this book but I was kind of let down with the ending. I don't need happily ever after but having Wolf take off like that just didn't make sense to me. Despite this, I still liked the book and I think it earned the five stars easily.

Rabid Zombies eBook Culex Pipiens Reviews
The author needs to kick it up about 10 more notches then he will rate more than two stars.
The story is dull. There really isn't much action. I gave up at about the halfway point. One sentence did the book in for me. More or less, this was the sentence 'In the last few weeks they'd learned that zombies in number were harder to deal with than just a few at a time.' Well, the author hadn't written about a single encounter in which any of the characters had engaged numerous zombies. At least I know they learned about it. I really would have prefered to read about the learning experiences.
The character-'Wolf give me a break, would you? Rewrite the book, quit whatever it is you're smoking, and create a hero less superhuman and one dimensional. Giving the author some credit, there was an attempt made to give Wolf more character. Imagine this the author standing over your shoulder and saying see - right there - yeah that - that's character - see - I gave him some - I really did. That is how obvious and poor the attempt was.
Pro's. The editing wasn't abysmal.
Fast paced action with good writing keeps you on the edge of your seat. Recommended reading for those who like zombie genre.
Great reading for beach or vacation. I enjoyed it! I recommended it to friends and family that share my interest in WHAT HAPPENS AFTER!
Rabid Zombies was a very good read. It was nice to watch the group of people come together. The main man "wolf" was a good leader with a soft side. I would like to continue the story in another book! I recommend this book.
i watch and read alot of zombie related material, some are very good and off course some are just terrible not worth to watch or read ,but this book left me wanting more begining to end just great read would recomend it to anyone.
The beginning is very choppy. Written more like a movie. Giving background on people before the shot hits the fan. Loved how the group formed and their trip. Didn't really like the part from the military base on. Also felt the Melvin thing should of been wrapped up. Did not like end of story.
This book was a good zombie novel. It started off kind of bland in the first few pages and I started to think I had made a mistake but hang in there its worth it. The way it tied in real events and government coverups without turning into a political novel was awesome. I was referred to this book by a blog on survival prepping and the story provided some food for thought on the subject. I also liked how the story incorporated other preppers into it without going over board and making them seem like well prepared super heroes. With the exception of the the main character. He makes me think of a retired Special Ops Steven Segal movie. The book actually reads like a good zombie action B-movie with better acting. There's quite a few spelling and grammatical errors but I'm not obsessive about that sort of thing. The story more than made up for it anyway.
